Two snow storms once again limited progress on our facility expansion this week.  However, the crew from Hoard Construction did a great job in getting the most out of the opportunities they had.

Soil cement was placed in the Patient Discharge roadway and should be ready for pavement base in the near future.  In addition, plumbing work was able to commence on the sanitary sewer below slab plumbing lines in the surgery area expansion.  Foundation work also continued for the bed tower.

The $34 million dollar facility expansion project will result in 96 additional hospital beds for Bartlett and the surrounding area.  The expansion will allow Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett to double their current total of ICU beds and surgical suites.  In addition, ancillary services such as pharmacy and laboratory will be relocated and expanded.  Finally, with the addition of more than 83,000 square feet, Saint Francis-Bartlett will have space available to expand service lines to serve the growing needs of the community
