(January 16, 2006 – Bartlett, Tenn.) Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett has unveiled a new cardiac catheterization lab. A cardiac catheterization is a non-surgical procedure in which a thin plastic tube is introduced through an artery in the arm or leg. The tube is then advanced into the coronary arteries or heart for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes. “We are committed to meeting the needs of our patients and physicians,” said Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett CEO David Wilson. “This cath lab represents the next step in meeting those needs. This enhancement to our cardiac services will provide us with effective diagnostic capabilities for the heart.” Services available at Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett’s new cath lab will include diagnostic cardiac catheterization as well as diagnostic and interventional peripheral studies and procedures.
