Saint Francis-Bartlett Announces InQuickER 

Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett is providing a solution to the problem of emergency room waiting with the first InQuickER in Tennessee.  The system allows patients to make an online reservation to be seen in the emergency room.

Patients with a non-emergency medical need may make their reservation by logging on to After completing the registration process online, including a $14.99 registration fee, patients simply arrive at the emergency room at their designated appointment time. 

Kem Mullins, Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett chief executive officer, says the service meets the needs of patients with busy schedules. “At Saint Francis-Bartlett, we are constantly trying to improve our processes to make services easier to access. InQuickER allows patients to wait in the comfort of their homes until their designated reservation time.  This provides many of our patients with the convenience they need.”

According to a study by Press Ganey Associates, Inc., emergency room visits in the United States rose from 90 million in 1990 to 123 million in 2008.  The average time spent in the emergency room increased in 2009 to four hours and seven minutes.
