Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett has been recognized for service excellence for a second consecutive year under the J.D. Power and Associates Distinguished Hospital Program. This distinction acknowledges a strong commitment by Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett to provide “An Outstanding Inpatient Experience.”

The service excellence distinction was determined by surveying recently discharged patients from Saint Francis-Bartlett on their perceptions of their hospital stay and comparing the results to the national benchmark established by the annual J.D. Power and Associates National Hospital Service Performance Study.

The telephone-based survey conducted among Saint Francis-Bartlett patients focuses on the five key drivers of patient satisfaction with their overall hospital experience. These drivers, which were identified in the national study, are: dignity and respect; speed and efficiency; comfort; information and communication; and emotional support.

“To receive this designation from J.D. Power and Associates for the second straight year is a great accomplishment,” said Kem Mullins, Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett CEO. “It is our goal to exceed our patients’ expectations. Being recognized among an elite group of hospitals demonstrates the commitment of our physicians and staff to providing customer service excellence.”

Located in Bartlett, Tenn., Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett exceeds the national score for overall patient satisfaction, performing particularly well in providing patients with a comfortable stay. The hospital receives notably high ratings for doctors’ and nurses’ concern with controlling pain, and in their concern for patients’ continued recovery and well-being. Nearly one-half of all Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett patients surveyed say they were “delighted” with their hospital services, compared with 33 percent of patients in the national study who say the same.

The hospital also performs well in providing patients with speedy and efficient service, particularly for doctors’ coordination of care with nurses and the nurses’ performance of regular duties. Compared with the national average, the number of patients who indicate they have “much more” trust and confidence in the hospital after their most recent stay is much higher among Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett patients.
