Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett has 441 physicians in 31 specialties serving on its medical staff. Hospital employees recently took time to honor these physicians at their annual Doctors’ Day celebration.
“We are so proud of our physicians and the work they do for Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett,” said Kem Mullins, chief executive officer. “Doctors’ Day serves as a small token of our appreciation for the dedication and compassion that our physicians bring to the hospital each and every day.”
The celebration is highlighted by the annual presentation of the Physician of the Year award. Pulmonologist Syed Shirazee, M.D., was the recipient of that honor.
“Saint Francis-Bartlett has an excellent medical staff with many physicians that are very deserving of recognition,” said Dr. Shirazee. “I’m very appreciative of the honor and I’m very appreciative of the hospital staff. It’s great being part of a team that is so focused on providing their patients with the best care possible.”
“Dr. Shirazee has been with Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett since we opened nearly five years ago,” said Mullins. “His presence and input means so much to us and has helped our hospital grow. I often hear positive comments from patients, their families, and our staff regarding Dr. Shirazee’s work. We feel very fortunate to have him on our medical staff.”
The hospital staff also honored James Wilson, M.D. with the Leadership Award. Dr. Wilson is an obstetrician/gynecologist at Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett.
"Dr. Wilson is very deserving of this honor,” said Mullins. “Dr. Wilson is recognized by his peers as well as Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett staff members for his outstanding leadership qualities,” said Mullins. “Dr. Wilson has served as the chair of the credentials committee as well as a member of the executive committee. I appreciate his willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty to help ensure quality care is provided at Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett."
