Go “Green” with IMPACT for patient safety and the environment
A message from your IMPACT Physician Champion…

With IMPACT, the transition to computerized records offers enhanced patient safety while providing opportunities to benefit our environment.

By accessing the electronic patient chart, physicians and hospital staff will have the latest, most complete information in one place to use in making clinical decisions and delivering care without having to rely on printed copies.  Physicians and staff will be able to view:

  • Lab, pathology, and radiology results
  • Medication administration record
  • Vital signs
  • Inputs and Outputs
  • Nursing assessments and clinical documentation
  • Immunizations
  • Orders
  • Itraop surgery scheduling
  • Patient home medications
  • Patient rounding list
  • Critical care flowsheets

Because these records will be electronic, you will be able to view this information from remote locations at any time.  Information will be legible, well organized and up-to-date.

With electronic information at your fingertips, you will be able to eliminate our reliance on batch printing of lab results and patient lists and to use the electronic chart to access this information. Moving away from our paper-based traditions may seem uncomfortable at first, but it will ultimately help us provide the best possible care for our patients.

Watch for training opportunities later in the year to learn how to hone your computer skills and how to view your patients’ information online.

Thank you in advance for committing to this important component of our IMPACT journey!
