MEMPHIS, Tenn. – February 14, 2006 – Tenet’s Central Northeast-Southern States Region today announced that David L. Archer was named chief executive officer for its Memphis market.
In this newly created role, Archer will remain chief executive officer of Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis and will become directly responsible for Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett in Bartlett, Tenn. A national search is currently underway for a new chief executive officer at Saint Francis-Bartlett.
Archer, who has more than 20 years as healthcare executive, has been CEO at Saint Francis-Memphis since 1997. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Columbia University Graduate School in New York, N.Y., and a master’s degree in public health from the Columbia University School of Public Health. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in management from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.
“David brings a great deal of valuable health care experience to this position,” said Stephen E. Corbeil, senior vice president of operations for the Tenet Central Northeast-Southern States Region. “He was the driving force behind the development and construction of our hospital in Bartlett. His knowledge of the Memphis market will be extremely valuable in this position.”
